Celebrities react to shock news that Amy Winehouse is dead

Following the tragic news that Amy Winehouse was found dead at her North London home this afternoon, social networking sites have been inundated with fans paying tribute to the talented star.

Amongst the thousands of Twitter messages from distraught fans, celebrities have been reacting to the news.

Singer Ricky Martin Tweeted: “i just found out. I feel pain. I feel anger. Rest beautiful girl rest. You are free! #RIPAMY”

Pixie Lott simply wrote: “R.I.P Amy Winehouse such a talent you will be missed ♥”

Estelle said: “RIP Amy. ******* off twitter for the day.”

Siva Kaneswaran, of boyband The Wanted, had recently met Amy. He told fans: “Very sad news. May her soul finally rest in peace. Feel so privilege to had met such a talent just a few days ago. #RIPAMY xxxx”

Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton added: “Can not believe the news. Amy was a special girl. The saddest news.”

X Factor vocal coach Yvie Burnett said her thoughts were with Amy’s family: “Thank you everyone who messaged me about Amy. Feel so sad for her family.”
